On the 7th and 8th of March 2025, the members of our society collaborated and created their own numbers for our annual charity fundraiser, this year titled ‘Raise You Up’. Our show included songs from well known fan favourites like Wicked and Come From Away, as well as some newer hits from The Great Gatsby and Death Becomes Her. Our chosen charity for this year’s fundraiser is Mind, a charity that focuses on mental health across England and Wales,

On 9th – 10th of March 2024, our members gathered and created their own numbers, collating our fifteenth fundraiser: “Thank You For The Music”! Featuring a selection of songs from musicals such as Les Misérables, Dear Evan Hansen, Grease, and even a number from Barbie, the fundraiser was used as a way of raising money for two charities: Billy’s Room and Motor Neurone Disease Association.

On the 3rd and 4th of March 2023, our members performed songs of their choosing in A Night of Giving. The show raised money for Billy’s Room and St Teresa’s Hospice, charities chosen by members of the committee. The performances are available to watch here!

At the beginning of 2022, the members of Northumbria Musical Theatre Society got together, auditioned and rehearsed their own numbers and have put them on stage in a wonderful array of different musicals and genres. The Fundraiser was held in aid of Blood Cancer UK.

After over a year of no official performances due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, MTS staged their first show back with our fundraiser, Bring On Tomorrow. The members rehearsed and auditioned their own numbers online and then were able to practice together in a safe, socially distanced manner. All money raised from the show went to Cancer Research UK.

On the 29th of February and the 1st of March, Northumbria Musical Theatre Society held their annual fundraiser to help raise money for a chosen charity. This years charity was ‘Twisting Ducks’. The members chose and rehearsed their own songs in their own time along side their university studies, so please enjoy all of their fabulous performances!
